If you receive the wrong item, we will make it right. We will reimburse you for the return shipping charges when we receive your product back.

We do charge a 10% restocking fee for all orders that are returned for refund if the return is not due to our error. There is no restocking fee for exchange products, but you will be charged for the shipping when we send the new item to you.

We understand the sentimental value of a tool that has served by your side and the hesitation to trade it out. Where able, Iron Fox Axes can repair you product. Contact us to discuss potential repair services.

The sale of all limited edition, engraved, monogrammed, embossed, or other personalized products are final and non-refundable.

Shipping

Our tools are assembled as they are ordered. With our employees also serving as first responders, shift work can conflict with our ability to immediately build and ship tools. Please understand that there may be a delay of a few days before your tool is built and shipped. Custom tools take even longer due to the varying work load of the laser engraver.

Custom/personalized leather work is done by an outside company and will have a greater time to delivery, which is usually 4 to 6 weeks. Please be patient.

We ship via UPS. All shipping rates are calculated during checkout. Shipping fees will be charged on warranty items sent in beyond 30 days from the date of purchase. Shipping on returns, repairs, or exchanges are the responsibility of the customer, unless specified otherwise. We DO NOT ship axes or scabbards to P.O. Boxes.

Sales Tax

All orders shipped within Colorado will be assessed a sales tax. Tax will be added in at checkout after the shipping address is confirmed.

Maintenance

Axe Heads

The steel used for the axe head is a tool steel. It can rust if neglected. We recommend wiping it down with a light coat of a natural conditioner (like Brass Billy or Axe Wax) at the end of each day after use, or once a week if in storage. To rework the edge, use a whet stone or course grain emery cloth. We DO NOT recommend the use of power tools with dry abrasives. The excessive heat generated by these tools could negatively affect the temper of the steel. Check the axe head before each use to insure it is properly seated/secure. The eye at the top of the axe head is not designed to be a striking surface (especially the epoxy surface).

Handles

Some wood handles come coated in a light wax film that is for shipping and storage. It will wear off quickly with normal use. As part of regular maintenance, we recommend you apply a light coat of natural conditioner (like Brass Billy or Axe Wax) after you check for cracks and splinters. Smooth with a fine grit sandpaper when necessary.

Fiberglass handles need no maintenance (other than cleaning). Consider decontaminating your tools of carcinogenic toxins after working fires by using decon wipes (like Fire Wipes) before cleaning and doing maintenance.

Leather

All of our leather is pretreated and sealed, so it will not require oiling under normal use for quite some time. If the leather does begin to dry out, use a natural conditioner (like Brass Billy). Excessive oil saturation will degrade the leather. Avoid getting oil into the friction swivel assembly on the drop out scabbards because it may alter the function of the swivel.
